MESSY CHURCH CHRISTMAS FOOD HELP

We are having our St Philips Messy Church Christmas on Sunday 11 December at 4pm and would be grateful with some help with vegetables/salads and puddings.  Here is the link:
https://www.perfectpotluck.com/meals.php?t=DPND1412&welcome=1

Anyone prepared to be an extra pair of hands in the kitchen as a one off gratefully accepted too.
This is such a good outreach. The 2 families we are providing the hampers for (see below) have both said they are likely to attend.

CHRISTMAS DINNER HAMPER

Let’s give these TWO families a Christmas dinner to remember! Please bring non perishables that will be luxuries for these families – special sauces, jams, maybe fancy cereals, really good quality coffee and tea – the sort of things they would never be able to buy for themselves.

Put your donations in the Christmas-paper-covered box in the foyer, or give money for the perishables (meat and veges, etc) to Joy Mylek (027 4100 747), or via the church bank account (06 0773 0019360 00) clearly marked Hamper. Food is the priority but for information one family has 3 boys and a girl 7-14, and the other also 3 boys and a girl 4-10, the eldest being the girl.

NEW WINE 2023 19-23 JANUARY

New Wine is kind of like our church camp and is so fun; just ask the kids. There are already quite a few of us signed up already so don’t miss out. Planning is well underway thank to Kath.
Here’s a short promo video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI9WrplQhzg

The new venue is Wairarapa college and there are now more accommodation options if camping isn't for you. For more information and to register head to their website:  https://newwine.org.nz/big-noise-23/
If cost is an issue don’t let it be you can apply for gracebox to cover all or part of it, no financials need to be filled out with this.

YOUTH NEWS (FROM KARLA)

Farewell To Brenna

Friday night's youth group was a farewell to Brenna Wood who has been with St Mary’s youth group for 6 years. The intermediates had fun playing games at the park and then finishing their session with reading from the prayer book and praying together.
In between our two sessions we had dress ups and photos with Brenna. The youth group gifted Brenna a pounamu and earrings, a small way to say thank you for all she’s given out to our youth. Cake and chips followed!
The seniors reflected on the best thing they remember about Brenna and then burnt off some energy playing games outside. Our prayer and readings around candles continue to go deeper each week and our question box continues to spark conversation.

Next week we are inviting the families of our young people to join us for a Christmas dinner. Please keep these families in your prayers. We’d love to meet them next Friday.

Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to invest in our youth community.
