St Mary's Youth Ministry
Our youth pastors are Karla and Kath. Karla has been leading youth group with Bierz for the past two years, and now that Bierz has stepped aside, Kath is co-leading with Karla! Karla has 3 teenagers - 13yrs, 16yrs and nearly 18yrs and teaches part time and lives locally in Pinehaven.
"I love working with our youth and I'm passionate about helping create a place for them to belong and hang out together in a safe and caring environment where we can have fun end explore faith together."
Junior Youth Group (Year 7 - 10)
Friday 6:30 - 8:00
This group will continue to run on Friday nights with an earlier finish.
Karla will be running this group with the help of parents and other adults who will come and hang out and share with our youth.
Senior Youth Group (Year 11 upwards)
Wednesday 7:00 - 8:30
This is a new group we are starting which will be run by our local Vicar Kath Bier, and will have a more discussion style focus.
Kath, who is also Bierz's wife, has 2 teenage sons 16yr and 19yrs and has been a familiar face at youth group for the past year.
Karla will also be at the group in a supporting role and together we look forward to working through The Chosen DVD series about the life of Jesus and unpacking the bible and life together - over really yummy dessert!
Mixed Social Activities
To help keep the groups mixing together we will continue to run a social event on the first and last Friday of the term for both groups. While we try and keep the cost to a minimum please do let us know if cost is ever a barrier to your child attending our activities. We're happy to help.
